Tom Grummett? I'm not sure but I think I've heard of him. Danny chase was a bad ass! Or is was it that I always wished I could kick his ass? Ah, the memory does fade over time....

Danny Chase was like the Cousin Oliver of the Brady Bunch. Maybe the editors wanted a new Changeling character type, since they made Gar Logan into a bitter teen after Deathstroke won the popularity contest and got his own book. Really cool issues as this was the transistion from Perez to Grummett.

I was never a Brady Bunch watcher, so I'll have to take your word on that. But I used to think the same about Danny. Except, the timing doesn't make sense because he first appeared sometime during the Eduardo Barreto run, so probably around 1986, which was before Gar became less jovial and more bitter, long before Deathstroke got his solo series a few years after that. But even early on, it felt like they wanted another Changeling type character, except way more annoying and obnoxious. Oh, and thanks for reminding me Grummett was the guy who took over the book after Pérez. I knew Grummett's name sounded familiar, but I just couldn't place it.

Gar got bitter after Terra in NTT annual 3 and Deathstroke got off scott free in court in original NTT at the same time of the Barreto baxter run.

True, he was understandably bitter after his girlfriend turned out to be a double crossing slut, but he didn't remain that way forever. Certainly by the time of the Grummett run he seemed to be a lot more like his former self. At least that's how I seem to remember it. I remember really enjoying those issues of the then renamed "Tales of" The Teen Titans which featured Deathstroke in court and that issue, after Deathstroke is set free, where he goes up against Changeling, #55 I think. Good times!

This is absolutely not inks by Perez. This looks like Perez doing just the loose layout with pencils by Tom Grummet.
I would guess inks from McLeod who was doing some inks around this time.
But the line work is not Perez. His inking is very distinctive.
