DescriptionI have always loved Felipe Massafera covers but I never was able to get myself to pull the trigger. However, when I went to SDCC this year, Mike Burkey showed me a few of them and I was amazed by the level of detail in the pieces, the cleanliness of the brush strokes, and the way those pieces looked in person. When he showed this cover in Dueling Dealers a month later, I made an offer and Mike accepted it, so here it is!! I love the homage to Jim Lee's Uncanny X-Men 268 cover, with the updated costumes for Cap and the Black Widow, and the Madripoor background. I love this particular costume for Steve Rogers, which is the same one he is wearing in one of the Alex Ross covers that I have the pleasure to own, so I thought this was a perfect piece!Social/Sharing |

The translucent force field shield allows light to pass and gives Cap an even hotter fiery glow! Together Again for the first time under Massafera!

great colors and incredible level of detail on this cover, congrats!!! interesting you can see Cap's arm/hand through the shield as well!

Mindblowing! What a stunning Felipe Massafera painting! I can see that it's an homage to Jim Lee and Scott Williams' Uncanny X-Men 268 cover, but it's so much more than just that. Massafera has updated the uniforms on Captain America and the Black Widow and he's changed the whole mood of the piece with his bold use of color. The cover seems so much more lively than before. The figures, particularly the Wolverine, seem about ready to leap off the page. What a terrific new take on a fabulous cover! Great pick-up, congrats!
