DescriptionHere's a fun one. Jemm was originally created as a Martian a cousin to Martian Manhunter. You can even see the original title was Jemm, Son of Mars - Colan scratched out the word Mars on the top of the artwork.Colan and Janson combined to create a considerate portrait of an alien on earth. From Wiki/Fandom: Originally, Greg Potter intended Jemm to be from Mars, and planned to eventually reveal Jemm was the cousin of J'onn J'onzz. At the time he developed this idea, J'onn J'onzz was rarely appearing in DC comics. However, before this plan could be finalized, DC decided that J'onn J'onzz would return to the JLA, so Potter's plan was vetoed, and he changed Jemm's homeworld to Saturn. The premise also remind me of the 1984 movie Starman with Jeff Bridges. Colan and Janson add that cinematic realism at a time period when the art trend was headed that way following popular movie adaptations in comics back then.
