Description

I have been a fan of Chris Samnee since I first laid eyes on his art, and his Batober sketches were something I looked forward to with great anticipation each October. 2023 was the last year for Batober, but I think his upcoming run on "Batman and Robin: Year One" that starts this September will more than make up for that loss.

That I was able to get on his sketch list this year and was slotted for an August sketch also helps to take the sting out of the end of Batober and the sale of the sketches the following month.

For this commission I decided to add the other two members of DC's big three to my Samnee collection. Alex Ross and Mark Waid's "Kingdom Come" is one of my all-time favorite comics in no small part because of the relationship between Superman and Wonder Woman. That Superman and Wonder Woman, two characters destined to outlive all of their friends, even the super ones, would eventually become a couple was inevitable and it was fitting that they would do so at a time in their lives where they shared a hard-earned wisdom of what really matters in life.

Chris did an incredible job bringing them to life and I could not be happier with this piece.

Samnee commissions get to the core of the characters and this one shows the dynamic between the man of tomorrow and the amazon warrior.
