I was captivated by the Joe “Robbie” Robertson/Tombstone storyline as a youngster, and I’m in awe holding this chilling moment in my hands today. Sal’s knack for expressing horror and dread is on full display. This spectacular issue by Sal Buscema and Gerry Conway features the origin of Tombstone. Big thanks to Thiefar for letting this one go! Even the "K" in KRAK is cracked! So happy for you. This has to count as Grail-level for your collecting. Powerful imagery in that top half-splash only to be outdone by Spider-Man thought balloon in the last panel

Always enjoyed Tombstone quite a bit myself, huge congrats - an awesome half splash great Spidey panels and an origin page, very very cool!

Same here, Ron! Loved these Tombstone stories as a kid. Tombstone is the ultimate bully, and this moment was a brutal one. I'm lucky to own the cover to this issue. Huge congrats on one of the best pages in the book, and that's saying something!

K Gearon! So happy that you own the cover - it's one of the most memorable of the era for me. I love the contrasting stark white background with the black-suit-and-tie Tombstone smirking down at the viewer. Glad we have the 139 connection!

The sound effect should have been snap. That would have been funny as photographer Peter was not round to take any (Snaps) as its difficult to web sling in time to where this took place, so Tombstone snapped Robbie instead.

Incredible and extremely memorable page ! Congrats for this beautiful piece of Spider-Man history. And I love those Buscema inks !!!

I loved Sal's artwork for Spider-Man. This Tombstone/Robbie storyline was just amazing. I was so wrapped up in it each month.

Wow what a spectacular page! The rain really helps add to the poignancy of Robbie's plight and Spidey's sense of urgency. Major congrats!!

This storyline really stuck with me as a kid. Tombstone was terrifying and perfectly drawn by Sal. Fantastic page.
