AL FELDSTEIN - War Against Crime! #9 "The Fatal Turn" Story Page 7 Original Art (EC, 1949).

EC editor, writer, and artist Al Feldstein creates a tense scene of evening intrigue in this pre-Code crime story centering on insurance investigators uncovering a criminal conspiracy. Ink over graphite on Bristol board in twice-up scale with an image area of 13" x 18".

in 1950, EC Comics publisher Bill Gaines and his editor, Al Feldstein, began experimenting with horror tales in their crime titles, War Against Crime was replaced with The Vault of Horror. The Vault of Horror continued to run for a total of 29 issues before ceasing publication with issue #40 (December/January 1955).
