Description

Martin is well known for his artwork on Department of Truth and Dracula series so I thought there wouldn't be many covers suitable to have on the walls that the kids would find inspiration from.

So When I saw this painting for the Wynd spin-off series Wynd: Throne in the Sky #5 (written by James Tynion IV), it inspired imagination of being winged, bursting upwards out from clouds into the sky at such speed that it approaches red shift.

Used as both a variant cover and variant virgin cover.

The colours of the art is best seen in the unframed detail image attached and we were also fortunate to have met Martin when he came to the Singapore Comic Convention in 2023 and he painted his signature onto the art. It is now happily displayed in our home office.

Done in mixed media, painting with tape over the winged person flying skywards, done to about 11" by 16"

I wouldn't be surprised if this winds up being a TPB cover too down the line with how it's more symbolic and clean of a design that people will remember.
