Description

I've wanted a Rod piece for a while and battled over what character would be it, but by chance the opportunity presented itself snd he had a good price for black and white head sketches so I figured I'd go for it at the con. We ended up opting to do a mail in option since I'd only be at Baltimore for one day.

I had suggested to him maybe to give the character shades such as how he looks on the cover of Rocket #1, as I'd had the visual in mind for whatever artists I might get work from. I told him however to only do it if he felt it helped the piece be better, and well I think he did a great job.

His loose and expressive style has a lot of applications to different characters and this might actually he the first time anyone has requested he draw this character as a commission (he worked on the character for one issue of a comic back in 2019). But I like how unique this is among my other pieces and in hindsight there maybe only 2 artists i would've asked to attempt this look. I usually am not one to give specific requests for articles of clothing or accessories present but I don't regret doing it here. He also added a small bit of color which I did not pay for and he did not have to do; and its basically a color bust. Might have to get myself another piece from him at some point. Nice guy and highly recommended.
