DescriptionAs Michael Lovitz recounted in the write-up for his recent post of Fantastic Four #177, page 3, he had reached out to me to express strong interest in the page when I posted it on CAF. I decided to try to fill a gap in my collection and make Michael (and myself) happy by proposing a trade for this striking Iron Man page. Thanks a lot Michael, I love it!Social/Sharing |

80's action sequence perfection that only Romita Jr and Layton could provide.

Top to bottom vintage Iron Man action! Always loved the shading technique used in panel 4, and that's a helluva left cross in panel 6! Congrats!

Love Layton's inks on those early Romita Jr issues. Great all-around action page!

Very nice. You can't go wrong with an Iron Man page from this period and art team.

Splendid Iron Man page from John Romita Jr. and Bob Layton. Just a great action packed page with Iron Man taking down one bad guy after another before being blasted with explosives! Love that sixth panel with Iron Man landing a haymaker on one of the bad guys and knocking him clear off he building! Beautiful inks by Bob Layton really make this page shine! Great pick-up, congrats!

That 4th panel gave me nostalgic goose bumps. This is the first issue of Iron Man I ever purchased, from a flea market dealer that had old comics. I had just started reading comics that summer of '86, and the first issue I bought off the spinner rack was 212 in September 86.
