Description

Flash Gordon (Buster Crabbe) and Dale Arden (Jean Rogers) illustration art by Travis Charest from 2014 (15" x 20"), is based on the promotional images (see additional images) as they appeared in the Final Chapter 13. Rocketing To Earth - Journey to earth of the 1936 Flash Gordon serial.

Born from the imagination of Alex Raymond Flash Gordon was first published on 8th January 1934 for King Features Syndicate.

Flash Gordon was bought to the silver screen by Universal Studios and is the first science fiction serial inspiring many filmmakers including George Lucas. At the start of the 1970s, Georges Lucas wanted to adapt Flash Gordon for the cinema, but ultimately gave up because the rights were held by a French director.
This led George to create his own science fiction universe...�.

This is a vintage Charest beauty and one that has appeared in one of his sketchbooks! He knew this called for an Alex Raymond level of quality and he delivered.
