Howard Porter and John Dell

Fun times on this volume of JLA. It introduced Sturmer loyal pet to Orion. He wasn't around for long if I recall. Who knows, he may come back one day. The detail on this page is incredible. Howard and John made Sturmer attacking the General look really impressive.

I like that the word balloons are on the artwork. Otherwise, I would not ever remember "...infrasombre bands of the mood spectrum..." So, thankfully, those words by Grant Morrison exist on the physical page.

From a time when JLA was hitting #1 in sales! Morrison, Porter, and Dell's return of the big 7 brought glory to the classic team once more with kinetic artistry and the best written books on the stands. Always highly anticipated redesigned looks when they expanded the team to the wider DCU epics! Page design is amazing here!

Porter really killed it on this series. Maybe inspired by Morrison's vision - or they fed off each other - but this was a classic run. Terrific action page.
