Captain Harlock (宇宙海賊キャプテンハーロック?, Uchū kaizoku kyaputen Hārokku) is a science fiction manga written and illustrated by Leiji Matsumoto, published in Japan from 1977 to 1979 by Akita Shoten. An anime television series directed by Rintarō and produced by Toei Animation was made from the work, and was broadcast in Japan on TV Asahi from 1978 to 1979.

This first series was followed by others, as well as a series of feature films, most recently 2013's Captain Harlock.[1] The character also appears as a supporting character in other series such as Galaxy Express 999.

Capitan Harlock (宇宙海賊キャプテンハーロック?, Uchū kaizoku kyaputen Hārokku) è un manga di fantascienza scritto e illustrato da Leiji Matsumoto, pubblicato in Giappone dal 1977 al 1979 dalla Akita Shoten. Dall'opera è stata tratta una serie televisiva anime diretta da Rintarō e prodotta dalla Toei Animation, e che fu trasmessa in Giappone su TV Asahi dal 1978 al 1979.

A questa prima serie ne sono seguite altre, oltre a una serie di lungometraggi cinematografici, l'ultimo dei quali Capitan Harlock del 2013.[1] Il personaggio compare come comprimario anche in altre serie come Galaxy Express 999.
