DescriptionTokyo Ghost # 10 page 18 splashArt by Sean Murphy Written by Rick Remender Image Comics - August 2016 This is an extra special one that as a collector I dreamt about. There's a lot of detail to take in, but within this stunning reveal of the city from the final issue you may notice some figures on the bottom right. Sean drew me and two other collectors (Andrew Hsieh and Richard Cooke) into the scene! So in the year 2089 Sean has knighted me as a guitar wielding samurai. Many thanks to Sean! When this issue came out I was a full time freelancer/musician and had very little expendable money so I missed the original sale of this page when Sean listed it through an Ebay auction. I took a high resolution scan of the published page and made myself an 11 by 17 inch print that's hung on my wall the past 7+ years. The original art had disappeared, but I always hoped it would pop back up. As luck would have it this piece showed up at Heritage Auctions at the end of 2024 and I knew I had to go for it and can't believe I get to hold this one in my hands. Social/Sharing |

Ahhhhh breathe it in! The detail and scenery is breathtaking and makes for an outstanding page on its own, but then you add the cameo! Future samurai level indeed :)

This is a great page, with Sean's trademark fully realized backgrounds. I loved this page when it came up for auction and was bummed to be outbid (I dropped out before the live bidding), but it's clear this landed in the right hands. How amazing to not only be depicted in the comic, but to now own the original. Huge congratulations!

I vaguely remember the opportunity to get drawn into Tokyo Ghost, and for some reason, I thought that the people who were drawn into the page had first refusal to buy the actual art (but I guess not). I thought I saw this page up on CAF years ago (presumably with one of the individuals who appeared on the page... at least, that's how I remember the connection), but glad to hear that it made its way back to you in the end. Huge congrats!
