Description

I've always admired Ben Bressel's CAF gallery with all his great 90's Wildstorm pieces, this being one of them. But over time I saw them slowly filter out and one day this piece was gone. Fast forward to the spring 2024 Comic Art Live and it's for sale from Justin Porter! Initially I passed on it, but he kept dropping the price. While I was working a separate deal out with Ben Bressel I mentioned that one of his former pieces was for sale and he told me that Justin was actually selling it for less then Ben sold it to him! Ben and I didn't end up doing the deal but the thought was now stuck in my head that I really wanted this piece in spite of everyone bringing up how small it was. After a few more messages Justin and I worked out a deal. Six payments and several months later this was mine!

Yup, it's small at 7.5" X 9.25" but to me this is peak Travis art and of one my favorite Wildcats characters.

It's from a series called WildStorm Premium Signature Series which was a nine card set that released once a month in 1997 with an MSRP of $49.95 per card.

It's the right time period! Travis established himself as a premiere illustrator at this time. His output was tragically low and this is one of the very few pieces that made it out.
