Description

A hologram of Alfa Agency’s science adviser Sigmund just instructed Nathan to remain quarantined in the Habitat. Instead, Nathan prepares to do the opposite:

“Come on, Xenia. We have to get out of here immediately.”

“What?! Didn’t you hear what your colleague said?”

“That holographic projection was not my colleague. Sigmund Baginov stutters, his wife is named Betty, and they have no children.”

“I… I don’t understand. Why would my mother lie?”

“That's what I intend to find out, and I need your help. Damn! It can only be opened from the outside.”

“I told you…”

“And the place where you found me? Can you take me back there?”

“Sure, why?”

“If I entered from there, and the collapse didn't block the lower level too much, maybe we can use it to get back to the surface.”

“What for? There's nothing but desert out there!”

“Not quite true, Xenia. There are also the remains of the flyer I was traveling in… and, with a bit of luck, a functional communicator we can use to call for help.”

As the tension mounts, Busticchi uses more unusual perspectives, including Dutch angles, silhouettes, and a bird’s eye view. These two pages were published back-to-back, so the reader did not see two silhouettes in a single double page spread. The upper right panel makes Xenia unusually short; elsewhere she is depicted as coming up to Nathan’s shoulder.

yeah the use of different angles/perspectives and the 2 silhouette panels give these 2 pages a sense of urgency/tension. very nice

Sharp lines all over these pages. No more seeing through glass and no more holograms, Nathan now sees everything clearly.
