Description

JLA: Liberty and Justice was published as a one-shot in November 2003, written by Alex Ross and Paul Dini with all artwork by Alex.

This double page shows the Flash (in a hazmat suit), Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter investigating the cause of a virus outbreak, which Hals' ring identifies it as an offworld parasitic bacteria and is unable to identify a cure.

The power of imagination is on show in the next page, where Hal uses the ring to "video call" Wonder Woman in her jet, their discussion is intercepted and interrupted by Batman, inviting them to bring the meteorite to the Batcave for further analysis to find a cure.

In continuation of meaning and inspiration of art, these pages, talk to dealing with crisis/problems by, first, contain and minimise impact/effect, second, analyse the cause, third, consult/work with others and finally, take the actions that will then identify the resolution/cure and move fast, adjust as needed and trust your colleagues/teams.

Thanks to Sal and Alex for letting this grace our walls, after it had been around the world in the Art of DC: The Dawn of Superheroes exhibition! (in Nagoya in 2022, Poland in 2019 and Paris in 2017/2018)
