Description

This cover was penciled by Marie Severin in 1969 but not used because, according to Back Issue #11, Stan Lee likely felt it gave too much away by revealing the "growing-old eon ray".

Marie drew this in 1969 and TwoMorrows published it as a full page splash on p.14 of Back Issue #11 (TWoMorrow Aug. 2005).

We had Joe Rubinstein do a blue-line and you can find it in the additional images.

Marie Severin's cover designs for Marvel were top notch and wrung out the drama and emotions far better than the distinguished competition could. Even if not used, her storytelling skills are evident.
