DescriptionWally West is the Flash!Following the Legends mini-series I started expanding the titles I was reading. (mission accomplished DC Comics) The Wally West Flash was one of those titles. I'd never read the Barry Allen series but I eagerly awaited the New Flash title and it quickly became one of my favorites. It was cool reading about the former Kid Flash taking over the mantle of his mentor, the Flash. Vandal Savage appeared in the first issue of the new series and was a reoccurring villain for the next four years. His and Flashes story concluded in issue #50. It was a pretty big story with Wally West dying, being resurrected and getting a more modern costume. This page features Vandal Savage and the Immortal Man. Flash #48 pg. 2 "Persistence of Vision" by artist Greg LaRocque and Jose Marzan Jr. On a 11X17 board. 1991 Social/Sharing |

With this Greg LaRocque layout, it certainly looks like she's visualizing an adventure movie poster! Flash is a very fun title with the art talents that have been in this run of books. LaRocque found his groove here.

Yeah, the Legends mini-series got a lot of people buying more DC Comics, especially all the newly relaunched titles. Flash was a fun book, though as someone who HAD been reading The Flash before Crisis and who is very much a "traditionalist", I hated that the new series didn't feature Barry Allen. Not only because I was a fan of Barry's, but also because I also LOVED Kid Flash, especially his costume. So to me, even though Wally was wearing Barry's costume, I always still thought of him as being Kid Flash, but wearing Barry's outfit! Ah, fun times....
