DescriptionNew Mutants 53 begins with Doug dreaming he's being infected by the transmode virus. He unintentionally infects the other muties, then has to face his magus, Warlock. But luckily it was just a dream! Of course, the rest of the issue with them interacting with the Hellions doesn't go much better...I got a great Warlock from Elvin during the mystery sketch event earlier this year, and he mentioned during the live show that he loved doing it and wanted to do more. Killer "next iteraction" piece from Elvin! Nice energy with how big the characters are and that they're charging the viewer...and lotsa nice gradients of grey throughout. Congrats, man!

Elvin is so good with the slashing lines and the tonal work within! Everything is sharp and dangerous to handle! Some subject matters are a perfect fit for him.

Stunning commission from Elvin Ching! I love this image of Magik and Cannonball infected by the transmode virus. Seeing those two mutants transformed into bizarre techno-mutants is kind of insane. Ching does a spectacular job of making that nightmare scenario come to life. I'm not very familiar with Ching's work, but if this is any indication, his is an incredibly talented artist. Great pick-up, congrats!

Loving this, it gives me ideas to do Phalanx versions of certain mutants for commissions or mystery sketches.
