Pit Fiend!!!! One of the scariest monsters in the bestiary. Look at those fangs dripping venom used for tearing up helpless characters. Look at those claws used for rending powerless characters Look at those wings used for battering weak characters. Look at that, please let that be a tail used for... Those poor, poor characters.

Awesome Steve. Between you and John , loving these D and D posts. Making me want to whip out some old modules I had from Ravenloft and Forgotten Realms

Love the design of this Pit Fiend. He looks monstroous enough to be a bouncer at Biker bar. Horrribly marvelous art by Tom Baxa. Great pick-up, congrats!

Duo tones on D&D! Illustrated fantasy of the highest order by Baxa bringing a clean ideal shot for the manual. It's more terrifying a foe than imagined!

Now that I think of it, your profile pic is Pit Fiend with a hairdo!

Cool seeing these older manual shots, Steve! A friend of the pit, indeed! And is that zipatone? Gradients of grey look great. Congrats!

Some fantasy art just brings back fond memories of childhood, in this case early games of D&D. Nice image of a fearsome opponent.

I recall facing them in DDO (D&D Online), and it was never a pleasant experience...
