DescriptionThe Flash by Jackson "Butch" Guice.Fantastic page with a nice full figure of the Flash from Flash Annual #1. In this story Flash unknowingly incapacitates an armed robber and nearly kills him through his vibrations. Wally West discovers he has the Dim Mak, the Death Touch, and is messing with peoples chi. He must travel to China and learn from a master to control his chi before he kills someone. Great memories of this one. The whole story unfolded in my head the minute I saw this page. Pretty typical comic story, as a kid this was the coolest thing. Not sure if it was the same for everyone else but within my group of friends we were way into Ninja stuff (Sho Kosugi ruled!!). We all had Ninja stars and one friend in particular had all sorts of weapons...Sais, tonfas, Kamas, Nunchakus, Ninja hand claws. He even had a full on white Ninja outfit. So when this story hit it was a melding of my two worlds. Instant joy when this page showed up for sale. Flash was one and my favorite reads and had some really great stories woven throughout the series and while issue is not considered important in any way (I mean it is an annual) to me it's one of the more memorable Flash stories. Tis the season, for a 2nd consecutive year I will be doing a special Christmas themed comic art unboxing live with Ruben DaCollector. Original Comic Art Unboxing #11 - with Ceasar Alvarez!. Come and share the fun and joy of unboxing a bunch of the art I bought this year! I've upped the ante and will be unboxing a whopping 23 boxes of art. Yikes! Hope to see you there. Flash Annual #1 pg 2 "Death Touch" by artists Jackson "Butch" Guice and Larry Mahlstedt. On a 11X17 board. 1987 Social/Sharing |

This was one of the early comics I read and remember this splash. I'm glad you got this page.

What a cool featured figure of Wally just patiently waiting! He knows there's no way they can match his speed so he takes his time in this opening splash. This era of Butch has the cool sleek lines that embodied what a speedster should look like.

Bro, you always come up with the coolest 1980's DC art! I used to LOVE the Annuals, but only when they were stand alone issues. I hated them when they begandoing company wide crossover stories with them. This splash isvery memorable to me, too. I loved Butch's work so much and it was fun to be able to start reading/collecting a Flash seriesfrom issue #1 and then pick up the first annual. Great memories of fun times!

Killer page! This is actually page 2 (page 1 is a panel page). But I own a page from this issue also--I loved the Baron/Guice issues. A super early annual during the run--IIRC, this actually came out after issue #2!
