DescriptionHoly Dunking Booth! Batman ties cinder blocks to the Boy Wonder's feet for a permanent sleep with the fishes at the bottom of Gotham Harbor -- nah, just a fake out to lure criminal mastermind and lighthouse operator, Captain Cyrus Spume, out into the open. Why kill Robin? Don't ask -- suffice to say the Scooby Doo gang should be involved.Anyway, love the crazy DC moment drawn by Brown and Giella. They had a fun run on Detective. Social/Sharing |

Whether its skinning cats or drowning birds, Batty always takes care of business!

Very cool! Just like when daddy Wayne getting rid of dead hookers. It is drawn in the manner of the Infantino era of Batman 66 to be very episodic and gimmicky to fake out readers.

Great pick up! I love Broen and Giella, but have never read this story. This page makes me want to do so.

Wonderful splash page from a very talented team from a often under-appreciated era, sandwiched between camp and Adams. Well worth reassessing, I think!

You couldn't resist the splash page joke could you? I know it is but does this count as a double splash page?

Well it would be a better end than some Robins had.

I clicked on this page because I thought it was FranK Robbins art, but pleasantly surprised to see a splash by Brown and Giella with the sentiment that has been echoed for decades about Robin.
