DescriptionWhen I opened the massive catalog from Heritage's September auction, I of course admired the Wolverine #1 cover as well as so many way cool pieces of art the auction had to offer. It was only towards the end of the flip through that I actually almost dropped the catalog because of what I saw.The cover art to Super Cracked #1 was going up for auction. It reminded me of a draft, where you covet one player that maybe other teams don't want as much, but he's #1 on your board. This cover art practically taught me to draw when I was 12 years old - I studied it and traced it over and over. It was by far my favorite issue of Cracked magazine and I collected Cracked for a long time. I am grateful to now have it up on my wall, reminding me regularly of my childhood love for comics and cartooning. A huge thanks to whoever parted with it. You never know when something really special is going to make it's way into your curating world. Social/Sharing |

Huge congrats, man, hitting on this super nostalgic and personally meaningful piece! Fun composition and some killer colors. Can't beat a piece that connects adulthood to kidhood like this :)

Wonderful painting by Wray! A great send up of all the heroes Marvel, DC, WB, and indie titles that came during that wild time period! I can see why it would hold so much meaning with what it represents.

What a fun cover. I can only imagine how much joy it brings to you up that wall.

Loved this issue of Cracked magazine when I bought it as a kid and my favorite part was always seeing Daffy Duck unconscious among the super-powered characters...

I remember reading this magazine. You are blessed with the intelligence and grit to win this one at auction. Well done lad.
