Description

Fantastic page (page 20 of the second part, page 49 of 49) by the great Italian Disney master Romano Scarpa, for his classic �Paperino e la leggenda dello �scozzese volante��. This is one of the most famous stories by the great Scarpa and only very few pages are thought to have survived...in my opinion the best surviving page (possibly even the best page from the story) with all the Ducks, the flying Scot (Scozzese volante) and Scrooge�s ancestor Danblane McDuck (or Pap Mc Paper as he�s called in the original Italian)�I just love the emotional side of this page, as Scrooge silently prays for his ancestor to finally find his peace.
First published in 1957 in the Italian Topolino 174/175, the story has been printed over 53 times in at least 14 countries, in Germany it first appeared in the Lustige Taschenbuch No. 8 (1969). This was one of my favorite Disney stories when I was a kid...
The final panel was used as the cover illustration for the first volume of the Italian Scarpa library.

These Scarpa stories elevated children's stories that even bring delight to adults! A very satisfying end to the story with the group shot!
