Description

My first of the "special" strips, anodyne substitutes Kelly provided for papers that were worried about his hot takes on Nelson Rockefeller and other completely forgotten figures. Generally speaking, I prefer them to the the political jokes. This one from 1964, an election year, natch. Charming Miz Beaver action!

Aren't they all technically varmints? Kelly's inks are so smooth and warm that we don't even think of them that way.
