8.5x11" sheet of paper has red felt tip pen original art sketch of Luke Skywalker by noted comic artist Al Williamson (1931-2010), who had a long career that included work in both comic strips and comic books, specializing in adventure, Western and sci-fi themes. Williamson is perhaps best known for his work w/EC Comics during the 1950s and taking over the Flash Gordon comic strip in the 1960s. Another sci-fi property that benefited from Williamson's touch was Star Wars. Initially the first choice to create a Star Wars comic strip, Williamson created two week's worth of strips, but these were ultimately not used. However, Williamson would go onto illustrate the strip from 1981 until its conclusion in 1984. Art features full body image of Skywalker, a blaster clearly seen at his side (and what looks like a lightsaber on the other hip). Williamson has inscribed art "To Mary - May The Force Be With You Always" and he has also signed art, adding "8/8/84" date. Sheet has some handling wear w/creases at lower left. Fine/VF overall.
