Description

Neal Adams Marx Brothers SDCC sketch from 1977, I think. I asked Neal to draw the Marx Brothers, figuring he'd never tackled that team in art before. He did two signings at my store in 2014. I asked if he'd done the Marx Brothers since my sketch. He had not. Just a cool curiosity. I had him add the flying horse just to be weird. 11x14 sketch pad. Neal drew the characters for me during a marathon sketching session. I waited until 3 AM to pick up the drawing! I caught a nap in the convention movie room, but Neal remained at his post for 15+ hours!

Neal always nailed it with caricatures. In this case, the Marx brothers had been caricatured a lot in their heyday, so the extra spin of the pegasus made it so much more unique.
