Interior from the French silent series Love, by Frédéric Brrémaud and Federico Bertolucci.
The second volume, centered on the fox, offers a compelling meditation on the cycle of life and on Nature itself, dramatized through the eyes of a fox as it journeys across entire ecosystems and overcomes countless adversities to reach its destination.

This illustration isn’t particularly central to the plot, but I chose it because it beautifully showcases Bertolucci’s exquisite pencil work, rich in detail and subtlety. The fox is just beginning its journey, moving with quiet determination through the forest. The perspective is distant, allowing the forest to take up most of the space, stretching endlessly into the horizon.
