Figured I'd share a fun story with you all. Behold my own Humberto Ramos cover, circa 1995, back in the days of having comic conventions. I hung around the DC booth because that was the place to be; best creators in the game! I see Ramos just standing there talking to Brian Augustyn, and I introduce myself to them. I was enjoying Flash and loved Humberto's pencils on Hardware and his filler issues of Superboy. Impulse was just starting (issue 4 came out in July). I believe this was Humberto's first SDCC and I asked him if he was sketching. He kindly obliged on my blank Gen 13 cover and started to rough out the gang from the Gen13. I told him, I'd love Impulse on the cover; he smiles, erases a few lines and pencils out what you see below. "Sit next to me, we'll be here for a while". I'm sitting next him at the DC tables and Rich Faber, inker of Steel was next to me and said "Hey' you want that inked?" Sure! Rich was local and I knew him from the comic shop. A little delay due to deadlines. I get this.... Flash forward 23 years later, in 2018 I see Humberto at a show in LA and told me about the cover; he doesn't remember but said bring it to CNTX; I show it to him there and he's smiling. Signed it with his current signature; and we recreated the photo we took 23 years ago.

That's a great story! Amazing collection of the classic Speedsters. '90s IMPULSE was the bomb.

Glad you like the art and story. Even Humberto's handlers were jealous of seeing this as they don't have covers with multiple characters like this. I

Great backstory to this awesome artwork. Ramos seems like such a cool guy, love seeing his early work.
