DescriptionAs a comic book-reading kid, I was thoroughly confused when I stayed up late to watch a show that TV Guide called "The Avengers." No Captain America in sight! In fact, no Americans at all. Now of course I appreciate it as a spry spy classic of Cold War television, when secret agents lurked behind every bush. Mark Waid (story) and Caleb Monroe (script) brought the "real Avengers" back to comic books for this 2012 series, which included a set of covers by Joseph Linsner. Not content merely with likenesses of the actors, Linsner also offers a psychedelic spiral background worthy of Saul Bass. Check out not just Steed's jaw and chin, but also the tendons in his hand. Emma's skintight suit is a story element, a disguise stolen from one of the women serving London's infamous Hellfire Club. She has a thorny rose as well as a metal London Underground belt slung low, doubtless doubling as a chain weapon when circumstances require. Mind the gap! Social/Sharing |

ohh nice I dig the spiral design elements in the background, and the figure work is spot on gorgeous stuff from Linsner

Beautiful cover! Great design elements and posturing of the figures...but its the subdued color pallet that really makes this work so well. Congratulations!
