Description

Here's the "first appearance" of Cap in Garney and Waid's Heroes Return series!! This page shows Cap's shield in action, defeating a Japanese nationalist trying to burn down and destroy all these American symbols at an American themed bar in Japan called Uncle Sammy's.... But we all know Cap is not going to let the flag get burnt down! That last panel showing Cap's glove picking up the torch represents that Steve is back!!
I picked this one up recently from Heritage, and I loved the layout of the piece, with all the panels of different sizes! The Waid/Garney run was amazing, so I was glad to get this one!

Such an iconic looking moment. I never read this run, but have long heard great things about it. That last panel showing Cap reclaiming the torch is pure symbolic perfection and this page’s dynamic layout makes it an epic pickup!

I love pages that just feature Cap's shield ping-ponging around doing its thing. And yeah, that last panel with Cap picking up the torch is classic. Great add!!
