The hush before the storm. This endpage cliffhanger from the classic run made a big impression on me as a kid. It still does. It's beautiful up close.

Great piece with Bissette and Totleben at their best! With Moore's direction, this title took off around these early issues of their run. Very ominous and foreboding image to set up the next issue clash!

An unforgettable page from an unforgettable run! That left panel is pure Swamp Thing perfection, with Bissette and Totleben at their absolute best, capturing the haunting beauty and elemental power that make this character so special. It’s no wonder this image has stuck with fans for so long. Just a breathtaking piece of comic book history!

Phenomenal Swamp Thing splash page by Stephen Bissette and John Totleben! Love this splash with the tight closeup of Swamp Thing's face in the first panel and his bacl in the second. Love all the detailed vines and growths and leaves and twigs that make up his body. It's so interesting that Bissette and Totleben go all out to make his vegetative reality so apparent. Some artists smooth all that out and make him look more animal-like, but Bisette and Totleben make sure you know...He's a plant-based being. Stunning pick-up, congrats!
