Shown here is the first version of the cover Scott painted for the first volume of the upcoming Wicked graphic novel released on March 11, 2025.

Many of the pages were composed using PhotoShop with a technique George Pratt used for Wolverine: Netsuki. Scott would design a background, do figures on a separate sheet of paper then manipulate them to get he image he prefers.

A perfect example of this is the graphic novel’s cover. The image, as printed, does not exist as a standalone piece. There were two proposed covers for the graphic novel: the blue one also shown on CAF and the second one featuring Oz. The editors and production team at Little-Brown/William Morrow Paperbacks decided they liked the components of each cover and combined those to make the finished cover. Production took the Elphaba figure from Version 1 but the Glinda figure from this version. They also used the background of Oz shown here but placed it on the blue background of Version 1.

Both versions fill an 11 x 17" piece of 2-ply Bristol.

Confusing?? You bet.

I will be assisting Scott in selling the original art. Like the cover, all published pages were painted in full color.
