This issue and moment kicked off the "Weapons of Vengeance" Marvel Crossover event in 2023. This issue was a flashback to the first time Wolverine and Ghost Rider ever met, which Marvel described as, "Wolverine and Johnny Blaze’s first encounter! Back when Logan was still learning what it meant to be an X-Man and Johnny was still reeling from his demonic transformation, the pair fought side by side against a terrifying supernatural threat." - Bleedingcool.com Series writer, Benjamin Percy described the book as, "Wolverine is metal. Ghost Rider is metal. Together their adamantium and chrome weigh in as HEAVY METAL! You know how Metallica and Iron Maiden have toured together, shredded out songs, wailed on music videos? This is a little like that. I write the sheet music that Geoff Shaw brings to pyrotechnic, guitar-smashing life. You’re in for a head-banging good time, I promise. This story – WEAPONS OF VENGEANCE — not only unites Logan and Johnny in the present, but also tells the story of their first (never before seen!) first meeting." The Rolling Stones' "Sympathy For the Devil" seemed fitting since the story has the same title: This was the storyline where Wolverine becomes the Ghost Rider and ultimately we get Hellverine. Wow! I guess this is Marvel's version of Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider. Absolutely LOVE all the thick, heavy, blacks. Just a great shot with a great perspective and I love how the depth disappears over the back horizon. Even those telephone poles are gorgeous. Congrats on this stunner.

Love the perspective as they are driving right towards us. It provides a great shot of GR's badass looking front tire. Wonderful use of inks from Shaw here as well.

Ghost Rider is going to lose patience when Wolvie has to pull over to get gas all the time. Shaw's art is very suited for this heavily inked blacktop road trip story!

Love this is in your collection! Side by side taking a leisurely...I kid, I kid, nothing leisurely about these revengers! Side-by-side bike ridin' with a vengeful purpose, no doubt. Congrats!
