DescriptionAVENGING ANGEL TAKING OUT DAZZLER FOR A FLIGHT NIGHT DATEMy first and currently only art page from Dazzler. This page from issue #17, THE ANGEL AND THE OCTOPUS (July 1982), features the Avenging Angel (Warren) taking out Dazzler for a flight/date. It’s an early meeting for this pair and a romance that was short lived, which makes this page pretty unique. Angel convinces the very annoyed and timid Dazzler to go out with him for the night. The panels of Angel carrying Dazzler, have a very similar feel to how the Christopher Reeves’s Superman would carry Lois. I really enjoy the bottom panel as it’s a great in flight image of Angel and Dazzler in motion. Springer and Colletta’s art work is really well done for character and posing, but more so for the great building detailing from this high angle view, lots of bricks and windows. Social/Sharing |

beautiful page! she said yes to the date before she knew she'd get to fly around, gotta give it to Angel for the effort lol. Springer/Colletta did some great work on this series. nice addition!

Smooth moves by Warren. He at least gets to second base by taking her out this way. What's she going to do about it, fly away?

It's a fine line between being pushy and persistent and I'd say Warren's staying on the right side :) Fun vintage panel to panel storytelling, JD, congrats!
