Yet another nice children's book illustration I've never posted before. It was most likely realized by Italian painter Giuseppe Pin, aka Giu Pin (1930-2013) for a reduced version of Alexandre Dumas' masterwork first released in the '60s and then reprinted in the '80s.

Gorgeous illustration for a classic book from Giuseppe Pin. I loved the Three Muskateers when I was a boy and this painting really captures my imagination's eye. Love the aunthentic look of the the clothing, the elaborate detailing on the clothes really sells the piece! Beautiful color palette here, the soft reds and greens and yellows really blend together beautifully. I wish more contemporary books used illustrations as elaborate and lush as this one!
