DescriptionRocks and balls and orbits, oh my!This was painted for a 1994 Marshall Islands stamp and first-day cover. Came with a lengthy and somewhat amusing note from Ellis noting that the planets are NOT to scale, they NEVER line up like this, and their orbits are NOT in a single plane. But it's still pretty. It's like something out of a textbook to simplify, yet keep our interest for us to memorize the order of the planets away from the sun. Not scientifically accurate, but easily memorized when presented in this manner.

But I do think the planets lined up like this when Bill Cox found a buyer for his miniature golf course.
