Description

This photo took some doing in tracking down. Back in 1998, Matt Baker's friend and inker Ray Osrin told me he'd lent this photo to a comics historian in Oklahoma named Bush. Bart Bush was the only person I knew in that area that had any knowledge about comic history so for a few years, I'd send him letters demanding he'd return the photo to Ray. Eventually Ray passed away and I continued with the harassment letters until one day, Bart finally said that he had no idea what I was talking about but there was another person with the last name of Bush that lived in the same area and that he probably had it. I tracked that person down and was pleasantly surprised to hear that he still had the photo. I had to pay the guy for this photo sometime around 2011. Both of the Bushes (no relation to each other) have since passed away. This photo is hand signed to Ray from Matt and is among my favorite items in my collection. This longwinded explanation is for my buddy Ruben who tells me I never write comments on items I post :)

Yes, THIS is how you we it! You post some historical photo and document, you add a detailed description for context and for the pure joy of living the past history of our hobby. This short-winded explanation is for my buddy Shaun, who never bothers to post descriptions for almost anything he posts. 😘
