Description

Super excited to have this page in the collection as I am a huge fan of Ditko's earliest work on ASM. Appreciate the first third of his run the most for the the dissonance of the shapes/that the art evokes.

The first panel with the Vulture should be on a T-shirt for rogues gallery images!

One of Spider-Man's first recurring villains with Vulter coming back!  This time he's going to outsmart the faster Spider-Man!  Ditko and Lee's worldbuilding is so relatable with the subplot of Peter Parker at work having to deal with a lady love and an overbearing boss.

Monumentally classic!  Poor Betty.  That Peter is an irresistible fibber!

Congrats on getting this Marvel Masterpiece!

Order me a tee.  And give yourself a pat on the back for this pick-up.  I always loved Ditko's awkward take on Peter and his funky adversaries.

Sometimes a single panel page can "best" an entire 25 year collection like mine, this is one of those times. Wow!

What is it about old geezers that makes them so creepy? Wasn't this supposed to be the generation of 'respect your elders?''

It's tough to get any Ditko Spider-Man pages especially issues below 10. I feel these early issues are more raw Ditko and he's not quite as polished as he is in the later, more refined Spider-Man issues!

Just an incredible page.  While I have always loved Vulture as a visual character and certainly consider him to be one of Spidey's more iconic arch villains, I do feel there was a long period of time when he was somewhat underrated.  Even today, he probably wouldn't make the same popluarity list that you'd find Green Goblin, Kraven, Venom, and others on.  But there's just something about a guy in a giant bird outfit that I always found fun and interesting.  Seeing this masterful Ditko example only makes me appreciate the character even more.  Congrats on this absolute gem of a page.

These issues are so classic; ool layout with Vulture on top and bottom panel tiers - with a great middle tier with Peter, Betty, and JJ.
