Description

John Amor captured the classic book illustrations of the early 1900's with this image of Boromir being pierced by the arrows of the Orcs. He captures the scene perfectly as portrayed in the movie. Every line is used perfectly from the bark of the trees, the evil of the arrows, the sun rays illuminating his sacrifice and forgiveness, and death kneel of Boromir. This scene really tugs at my heart when I watch the movie.

At the end of the first film, Boromir tries to take the Ring from Frodo as Saruman's Uruk-hai attack the Fellowship. Frodo escapes by using the Ring, and Boromir dies defending Merry and Pippin from the Orcs. As he passes, he apologizes to Aragorn and acknowledges Aragorn's birth right to the throne of Men. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli then lay his body in a rowboat that floats down the Anduin, as in the books.

Phenominal! This is set like a statue with a ray of light to make Boromir's death (like all of Sean Bean's roles) a divine event.
