Description

"Medal of Honor: Assault on the Hermit Kingdom" by unknown writer.

After the Koreans destroy the dingy, Rear Admiral Rogers delays military action for ten days and dispatches a ship to contact the American ambassador in China to demand an apology.

Cyrus Hayden envies his friend who would carry the flag in an attack. As a carpenter he isn't allowed to join the assault.

The admiral informs the crew after ten days that the Koreans refuse to negotiate. He orders every man on the ship except gun crews to join the attack the next morning to avenge the death of the sailors who were under a flag of truce.

Hayden joins the attack in the morning on the fortress, which is in the same area as Inchon of Korean War fame.
