Bryan Hitch & Andrew Currie

Back in the day, the cover to Ultimates issue 2 was already socked away by another lucky collector. Recently, that issue 2 cover did get put up for sale and sold. Anyway, also close to back in the day, a collector/artist, put these Ultimates box illos up for sale. I'm not sure if this was via a comicart-l posting or CAF or some other way I found out. If I recall correctly, he had Ironman, Hulk, Cap and Thor box illos? I could barely afford one and Ironman was the hole in my Ultimates group and even more importantly it was available.

If only I still had the emails from these types of posts and exchanges. But, over the years for one reason or another, those were lost. But, I did somehow manage to keep image files of the other 3 box illos. So, I can reminisce over them every so often since I haven't seen any of the others posted to CAF.

So classic! Even their art associated with the Ultimates had the same level of detail and clean design. It showed Iron Man with the anime mech influence and made it possible for the practical look used in film.
