DescriptionJosé Ortiz Vampirella #66 Story Pages 5-6 Original Art (Warren, 1978). Rodger Greenwood and Diana Fields are en route to a Martian settlement with orders to eliminate a disruptive element, but Rodger's mind is already orbiting a different mission. On this page from "The Blazer", he shifts focus to something more personal: reviving the flicker of intimacy they once shared, no matter how strained or distant it's become in the red dust of Mars. Ink over graphite on two Bristol boards with image areas of 10.5" x 15". Panels 1-4 on Page 6 are on a separate board, taped along the edges to the main art board. Acetate overlays with text paste-ups are also attached to each page with tape.Social/Sharing |

Great "Will they? or won't they?" chemistry in their banter. Ortiz is so ahead of the times in sophistication to show this kind of drama on a comic page.
