DescriptionA fun daily from 1949 by Wayne Boring and Alvin Schwartz.This is from Episode 60 entitled "Superman, Male Escort" that ran in strips 3279-3320 (June 27, 1949 to August 13, 1949). The story started when Eddie King, a male escort (can you believe that in 1949???), gets a black eye while attempting to defend Clark Kent from a bully. As he is now unable to work, but needs to raise money for his wedding, Eddie suggests Superman take his place. The announcement had been made that Superman would be available to escort some lucky ladies out for a date. Little did he know that every woman in Metropolis would turn up for the opportunity. Soon a mob of women appears, waiting for their chance to go out with Superman Social/Sharing |
