Description

I grew up on MOKF, specifically the Zeck/Day run. This page, specifically the last panel, really captures all of the detail and atmosphere that made MOKF's artwork so memorable for me.

If i'd started going to cons earlier in life, i'd probably have a whole file full of MOKF commissions from MZ! lol....

The story to go with it is cool too with the topical gang violence and the teamn operating at the street level.  It's the kind of thing Zeck would do all through the 80's.  Day's inks are great and the patterns he worked with added great depth pushing the comics medium forward.

The stories in MOKF rocked.  It was so much different than the superheroes that filled the rest of the rack.

Zeck and Day.  They were a fantastic art team.  And Day was a pretty good penciller in his own right too!

Marcus, you rascal.  You beat me to it again.  Zeck and Day, two of the giants in the field, and what wowed me about the page was the cool wallpaper patterns!

I can't tell, but they got to be screen tone.

Sure they were, but the usage is perfect.  The only reason I kept playing the first Resident Evil was I loved the household interiors, walls, wallpaper, carpet, etc., and this is what I'm reminded of in this page.  So freakin' cool.

not just the wallpaper, but the ceiling tiles and the window panes too. So many patterns, it's like a kalaidoscope.   Plus, dragon details in that wallpaper!!

I feel so stupid.  I totally missed that dragon!  This page is amazing.
