DescriptionAndrew created 8 covers for his run on Superman that started in 2016. This was the first and if you ask me, the best of the bunch. I've watched it for a few years. I purchased a more modestly priced cover from Andrew back around 2019 or so. I sold it as part of a package to buy another piece I really wanted and I've since sold that piece also. But I always wanted to get one of his covers back into my collection.I knew I needed to wait until I could put some money into it, because I didn't want to buy another cover that I didn't completely love. I really wanted something I'd want to hold onto. This cover just feels instantly iconic to me. Andrew is a great guy and an amazing artist. Social/Sharing |

It's a fresh take on Superman that we don't see as often because they've all fallen into a DC house style. Only a few artists would have the clout to break through the editorial stranglehold. This makes Superman a bit more alien and distant with the artistry taking precedence over the character.

Interesting composition. The cape line near the top almost makes Superman look like he is floating in red water.
