Old NYC establishing shot is so good. Quitely then dips to ground level before going up high in the open skies. I got a feeling we will see this sort of cinematography in the Fantastic Four movie.

Yep, a textbook example of how to set up a page to make it visually interesting to look at. I hope to find out in the next week if you are right in what you say in your last sentence.

Love this. Hitch and Quitely's work on this book pioneered the widescreen comics that were popular in the 2000's and this is a great example. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your comment. I think this was Quitely’s first Stateside superhero gig after all those eight-pagers in the DC anthology books; what a calling card it was. Your three Quitely splashes from the three biggest-name titles he worked on are incredible stunners.

Nice page. Funny story alert..I had a Quitely Authority page years ago and foolishly sold it for a pittance to someone who did the I am a new guy in collecting, cut me a deal scam. I believe he flipped it within a couple of weeks of getting it from me for multiples of what he had given me. Lol. Not fallen for that trick for a while now. The bad boys are out there. I have a small list of totally untrustworthy and unworthy people I would never deal with again. Most people on the site are nice.

“Funny story”? I have to honestly say that yours is the most exciting CAF comment I have ever read. In the short space of me going through it I was sweating like it was a rollercoaster ride as I thought the punchline was going to be that the lowlife who diddled you on the cost of the Authority page was going to be fingered by you as me. What a relief! About twenty years ago, which I am guessing is the time you sold the Authority page, I was having strange memory lapses (sort of like Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart, but not quite as bad as like Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart if you have seen the film) so I would not put it past me to have been the miscreant. Yeah, 99.9 % of everyone I have communicated with on CAF is fine. The 0.1 % is not Sada. Sorry to hear about your experience(s) but you live and learn. Thank you for your comment. As the police officer said in Halloween, everyone’s entitled to one good scare (even if it isn’t Halloween).
