Description

In spite of (or perhaps because of) the controversy surrounding its subjects and creators, I find myself fascinated by Dave Sim and Carson Grubaugh's exploration of Alex Raymond's death, drawing techniques, and role in the attempted cabalistic resurrection of the Confederacy. This drawing, of central figure Ward Greene, Rip Kirby writer and King Features editor, was created by Sim's assistant and protege Carson Grubaugh, who stepped in to draw the book when Sim's health failed him. Used in several pages later in the book, this drawing was done separately and digitally "started" in as needed.
