DescriptionA long sought after gem for my collection has been a prime example of Crumb. This is a page featuring Eggs Ackley (get it?) getting beat up by a group of anthropomorphic bird women. It has everything that the 70s Crumb was known for - anthropomorphic characters, voluptuous forms, and vulnerable men at the mercy of women. Crumb is and will always likely remain a person that I struggle with, especially around his depictions of violence toward women (whether they're in anthropomorphic form or not) but his impact on art is undeniable. In that same vein, who says art is supposed to be easy to accept? This piece was exhibited at Paris' renowned Centre Pompidou in 2024 as part of the exhibit "Comics 1964 - 2024". Social/Sharing |

Crumb was ahead of his time when the fascination was with big boobs. After the era of big implants, people began to appreciate a thicc booty in the new century. You can say that it's hard to accept just about anything having to do with sex, but what's important is what insight Crumb was willing to share with his own fetishes and his candid way of showing it in comic form.

Fantastic page, and frankly very tame compared to other pages in this storyline. You can actually display it without fear of insulting most people! Love him or hate him, Crumb was a genius.

I had a page from this story which I regretfully sold. Yes, Crumb is an odd duck (to say the least), but his importance can't be overstated. Great piece to add to your collection! Congrats! (I'm next!).
