Description

This is an original Marvel Comics production art board from Ka-Zar the Savage #22 (January 1983), created in Marvel’s rare Fumetti-style — using photographic images instead of hand-drawn art, with dialogue and captions applied on an acetate overlay.

This exceptional page is especially notable because the woman appearing in the photographs is Louise Jones, better known as Louise Simonson.

Features include:

Genuine Marvel Comics production board, approx. 11” x 17”

Fully intact acetate overlay with original pasted word balloons and captions (it is, however, missing one word balloon).

Signed by Louise Simonson (Ka-Zar editor and appearing in the photos) and Danny Fingeroth (writer) of this one-page story.

A rare, one-of-a-kind artifact actually used in the production of the printed comic

This is a hand-assembled paste-up page from Marvel’s offices in the late Bronze Age. Fumetti-style pages from this era are scarce, and this one combines original production elements with the added appeal of depicting (and being hand-signed by) Louise Simonson herself.
